Double Date

We were happy to spend last weekend with people we look up to in the industry: Lissa Kahayon, David Guison, Rajo Laurel

…and JC Buendia. We were gathered in Trinoma mall for a double dose of designer ready-to-wear, as Rajo and JC visited Bench and Kashieca respectively to dish out styling tips, as well as meet and greet their fans while promoting their individual collections for the brother-and-sister brands. More on these after our outfit details.

Seph: Hang Ten button-down shirt, Chemistry pants, Call It Spring boots, SM Accessories messenger bag and wristwatch. Hype this on Lookbook here, vote on Chictopia here.

This has got to be my favorite look to do: just something as simple as a button-down shirt with comfy pants, casual accessories and kickass boots. It takes no time and effort, but it looks put-together.

For guys with any style or grooming questions, feel free to ask me via Tumblr, Twitter, Facebook private message, or Instagram comment.

Shai: Folio tailored blazer and Viz-A-Viz sleeveless top both at SM Department Store, Divisoria acid-washed denim shorts, Primadonna pumps, Nine West bag, True Fidelity handmade necklace, SM Accessories bangles and ring. Hype this on Lookbook here, vote on Chictopia here.

Everything I’m wearing here was a case of love at first sight, especially the pink blazer. I’ve been looking for something like it for so long, but the items I found were either great but grossly overpriced, or inexpensive but poorly made. I saw the blazer while personal-shopping for someone else, and I just knew I had to have it!

What do you think of this look? For any comments or questions, keep ‘em coming via Tumblr, Twitter, Facebook private message, or Instagram comment.

Another cool blazer is that floral one on Aisa Ipac! Her shopping dates that day: blogger friends Ava Te, Ana Gonzales, Dani Barretto and Paul Chuapoco.

Rajo looking youthful as ever. We were beyond excited when he saw us and exclaimed, “Hey, you guys! I read your blog. I love your style. You kids keep me young!” Recalling that moment never fails to make us smile.

He showed us his favorite pieces in his collection.

We thought there were only gonna be the usuals, like skinny and straight-cut. But wait, there’s more! Hahaha. You’ll have to visit your nearest Bench store to check out which designs suit you best.

You also might want to test his Uno and Dos eau de toilet collection.

In the picture-taking frenzy of that afternoon, cameras were clicking away at the same time and we didn’t know where to look first, except for David. LOL

Kashieca was right across Bench, and the scene was pretty much the same as soon as JC Buendia arrived.

His collection consists of easy-breezy pieces, versatile enough to be worn to school, the office, a date, parties, and wherever-have-you.

He also has these cute baby tees!

We asked where he got his inspiration for the whimsical pieces, and JC told us the story of how his friends all know him to be a hopeless romantic. “I chose the frog as my emblem for this collection because I really like the frog prince. I like fairy tales.”

On the mannequin is JC’s brilliant five-way dress/pants/skirt/top/cover-up. Go ahead, drop by a Kashieca store, ask the saleslady to give you the how-to, and see if you won’t find it awesome.

Thanks to Lawrence Cua of Bench and Kashieca for inviting us, and thanks to these two for making our shopping date even more awesome just by being there! ♥

Fun and Fearless at 15

Cosmopolitan Philippines celebrated their 15th anniversary Thursday night with a fabulous sexy-formal bash at the NBC Tent. The venue was filled to the rafters with the most gorgeous faces, the hottest bodies, and the most well-respected names in the fashion and local entertainment industry. It was hard not to feel out-of-place—good thing we also bumped into friends and familiar faces! In a nice coincidence, most of those you’ll see here are people we met before they started out with their now-successful careers, either styling, featuring, interviewing or doing shoots with them. We’re pleasantly surprised that they still remembered us after many years, and that they remain humble amid the successes. Below, snapshots from that starry, starry night.

Fun Fearless Female awardee Laureen Uy

Four-time cover girl Marian Rivera

Mike Tan, Steven Silva, Ryza Cenon

It was great seeing Steven that night. Warm, friendly and malambing as always!

Maxene Magalona, Raymond Gutierrez, Kate Torralba, Saab Magalona

Hottest Hunk awardee Enchong Dee

Giselle Toengi and Tim Walters

Markki Stroem and his band performed smooth jazzy classics.

Joey Mead-King was the bubbly host of the show.

Phoemela Barranda

Enzo Pineda and Louise Delos Reyes

Mr. Fu the dapper funnyman

Megan Young

Christian Bautista

Marc Nelson

Denise Laurel

Bela Padilla

Isabel Oli

Alodia Gosiengfiao and her mom Tita Mariglor. It’s been years since we last saw them, we weren’t even dating yet at the time! Shai knew her from college and would often feature Edjie in the magazines and TV shows she worked with, while Seph met her as a suki customer of her handmade camera pendants before.

Karen Pamintuan of the Lifestyle Network’s “Listed” and Patti Grandidge of etc’s “Etcetera,” two hosts with the most!

Karen was actually Shai’s host when she was producer of a different fashion-lifestyle TV show a couple of years back, while Patti… let’s just say we’ll see her again soon!

Francis Libiran, whose designs we’re currently raving about, and showbiz reporter Gretch Fullido. Trivia: Gretch and Shai were finalists together in a certain reality TV show many years back… Haha!

Divine Lee

Blogger friends! As soon as they started arriving, we weren’t feeling so lost anymore. David Guison, Vern Enciso, Lissa Kahayon, Kookie Buhain

Domz Tiu and the ever-ravishing Marj Sia

Bringing sexy back in equally shiny outfits

We’re actually missing a few other bloggers here (or maybe it was taken from their cameras? We did take a lot of “class pictures” that night, haha!) like Raleene Cabrera, Tracy Ayson, Paul Chuapoco, Gelo Arucan. Hey, guys!

The program proper finally kicked off to a fashionably late start with Zia Quizon performing Adele and Up Dharma Down.

While Zia’s soulful voice filled the room, more veritable fashion forces walked in, as if on cue.

Danica Magpantay

Hideo Muraoka

Bianca Valerio

Kelly Misa and Marco Lobregat

Amanda Griffin

Jessica Yang and John James Uy

Vanessa Matsunaga

…and a host of other gorgeous models that have graced the covers, centerfolds and catwalks of Cosmo through the years.

Cosmo Philippines Editor-in-Chief Myrza Sison thanked all the fun and fearless people who helped pave the way for the magazine’s success. Happy Anniversary, Cosmo! If this party was any indication of what’s to come, you’re looking at many decades more. Check out Cosmo.ph for a list of all Fun Fearless Female and Hottest Hunks awardees.

Just thought we’d go for a “wild” look for the opening of Privado, the luxury sale by SM Accessories. Details here.

We went crazy over the watches at Timex. Some were on sale for more than half the original price! We just had to get these cute pairs.

Another cute pair we “spotted” (ooh pun, heh) was David Guison and Lissa Kahayon.

Tracy Ayson of Fashion Fangirl and Tin Iglesias of Fashion Ate the World. Seems everyone grabbed themselves some Timex watches!

With June, Noy and Diane of SM Accessories. Thanks for having us! We had a great “time” (heh, another pun). Privado is until this Sunday, so scoot over to the SMDC showroom in Mall of Asia and shop your heart out!

Oh, and speaking of shopping, tomorrow is the much-awaited Bloggers United Bazaar and we’ve got a booth. Details here. We’ll be selling not just accessories, but some of the clothes you see us wearing in our previous posts. See you there!

A post-script:
To you who made it worth the wait
Who makes cliches and corny lines ring truest
And turns dreams and fairy tales into everyday life
